Rotavirus Vaccine
Composition and Form:
- Rotavirus Vaccine contains live attenuated rotaviruses.
- Oral Suspension - 1 ml/dose or 2 ml/dose, depending on the manufacturer.
Indications:
- Prevention of rotavirus infection
Age Recommendations and Vaccination Schedule:
- First Dose: Recommended for infants between 6 to 12 weeks of age.
- Subsequent Doses: Typically administered in multiple doses with intervals of 4-10 weeks, depending on the vaccination schedule (e.g., two-dose or three-dose schedule).
- Completion of the Course: All doses should be administered by the age of 8 months.
Administration Method:
- The vaccine is administered orally.
Contraindications:
- History of allergic reactions to any components of the vaccine.
- Severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID).
- History of intussusception or anatomical abnormalities of the intestine that predispose to intussusception.
A pediatrician's examination is required before vaccination!
